Raised in the Bronx and living in London, MIKE's sound draws reference from two distinct and interwoven hip-hop cultures. Following the release of his 2020 album weight of the world, is MIKE's new single 'Evil Eye', produced by himself (as dj blackpower). The soul sample that opens the track gives a cheery feel and MIKE's rap comes in firm, but flows freely as he uses every last breath in his lungs to squeeze out his insightful words, 'taught me not to praise cash, try and share it when I can, thank my parents cos I aged fast'. 'Evil Eye' is the first release from MIKE's forthcoming project Disco! which is out on 21st June 2021. -Ellie Rose-Davies
